Cycling for a Cause: Anne’s Inspiring Journey with Team Rynkeby

When you see a pack of cyclists in yellow jerseys riding across Europe, you might just be witnessing something extraordinary - Team Rynkeby on their mission to support children with cancer. Among them is Anne, whose personal story and passion for cycling are as inspiring as the cause she rides for.

Anne’s journey began with heartbreak. “When I was in 6th grade, a classmate died of leukemia,” she shares. “As a child, it was hard to understand why it happened. Now, thanks to research and better treatments, children’s leukemia has become more manageable. I want to do my part to support this progress.”

That mission led her to join Team Rynkeby for the first time in 2017. Drawn in by the eye-catching yellow bikes, she discovered a community committed not only to fitness and challenge but also to a greater purpose—raising millions for children’s cancer research. In fact, last year alone, the team raised an astounding €8.6 million.

Anne’s training regime is rigorous and well-balanced. With a coach guiding her, she spends winter months doing indoor cycling, cross-country skiing, strength training, and stretching. “During weekends, I do longer sessions—skiing 20 to 30 kilometers or long rides on the bike. Being fit helps me handle work stress better too,” she says.

One of the most transformative parts of her recent cycling chapter was conquering her own mental limits. “Before joining Team Rynkeby Telegraphe in 2023, I didn’t enjoy climbing. I thought I wasn’t good at it. But climbing mountain passes taught me that I’m stronger than I believed.” This summer, she looks forward to the legendary Stelvio Pass, a grueling 24.9 km climb that challenges even seasoned cyclists.

Team Rynkeby is more than just a bike ride. It's a community. “Cycling is a social sport. Riding with others, sharing coffee breaks, and pushing through tough rides together—that’s what keeps us going,” Anne says.

She’s also deeply involved in fundraising, with corporate sponsorships, charity events like “Spin for Hope,” and even school runs where kids contribute by the kilometer. “It’s amazing to see how many people, young and old, come together to make a difference.”

For Anne, crossing the finish line in Paris is more than a physical achievement—it’s a celebration of teamwork, resilience, and hope. “It will be tough, especially in July heat. But reaching Paris with the team will be an unforgettable moment.”

And if you’re considering joining the team next year? “Just reach out to a local team and attend an info session,” she encourages. “Half the team is new to cycling each year. You’ll learn everything you need—and make lifelong friends while supporting an incredible cause.”

From personal grief to global impact, Anne’s journey is a reminder that sport can be a powerful tool for healing, connection, and change.

“I’m truly grateful to FrostPharma for supporting a cause that’s so close to my heart. Their sponsorship not only helps advance children’s cancer research, but also means a lot to me personally—knowing that my journey is backed by people who believe in making a difference.”
